Now I KNOW that the Lord saves His anointed; He answers from His holy heaven with the saving power of His right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and STAND FIRM.    Psalm 20:6-8

Good morning! :) Your responses are such a blessing to me, and I'm sure they encouraged others as well. I loved the analogy yesterday and it really helped me to think through the meaning of ASCRIBE... like Katey mentioned. I'd like to challenge you today to do your own word study on this, and on the word praise as well. See what you can dig up... and take the time to really think the meanings through to the point of application. Katey implied the “ownership” of the word ascribe... and that's the incredible line between knowledge and effectiveness... that's where it becomes a verb and something that is really experienced! I know that one thing that we can say we have most certainly come to a conclusion on is this – that we NEED to praise – that it is essential for us to maintain the proper attitude and focus.

[Stop.] Praise God right now for something you KNOW about Him. Ascribe praise. Make it personal... don't just read a devotional... show Him your devotion in the process... it's such a beautiful blessing you'll receive! Ask Him to teach you today. Ask Him to take you deeper than you've ever been before. Thank Him for what you know He can do.

Now…Focus, attitude, perspective. What is that supposed to be again?! Here are a few verses to ponder:
Psalm 16:8-9, 11, Psalm 32:11, Psalm 33:1, John 15:11, James 1:2

Question for today: What should our attitude/focus be? How does praise help to "fix" our hearts in that perspective? Lets get the basic foundation laid today… we'll dig deeper tomorrow. [Get your shovels ready.]

Finally… practice your praisin'! Let's praise the Lord out loud and together... today!

Good morning, friends! I hope you were as blessed as I was after reading the Psalms! But hold on to your seats… or computer desks… because we're kicking off the week with some talk about praisin' the Lord.

What is praise exactly?! Let me [or the dictionary, rather] define it for you:the act of expressing approval or admiration or commendation. the offering of grateful homage in words or song, as an act of worship. Why are we discussing praise today, you ask? Well, its all throughout the Ps...

ELOHI TSURI
My God My Rock.

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2

From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. Psalm 61:2-3

God is God. He is in control. He is intimate. He is the Rock of your heart.

It is a good day. His character... is so, so very good...

Hey there! How are you today? Any new prayer requests or updates? I've been praying for you... and I know others have as well.

Let's wrap up our present discussion of feelings vs. acting today... plant our feet... and see what else God has in store!

Check this out:
He {God} made known His ways to Moses, His deeds to the people of Israel. Psalm 103:7

In Exodus we read about the people of Israel, who had been freed from slavery by God, who witnessed some of the most incredible recorded miracles (m...

It's a good morning. Prayer time. Bible out, reading through my friend's thoughts, knowing that God is right now preparing me for my day... and a HUGE mug of coffee. :) It's a good day.

Let's break these things down into two topics, one for today and one for tomorrow. I don't know about you but I'm encouraged, and motivated from our discussions. I don't want to lose sight of what I'm learning, so I want us to keep digging and draw out our personal application: "feet planting steps"... to take ...

This morning, I want to dig just a little deeper into the discussion at hand. I'll keep it short. You're welcome. I can't wait to continue to draw this particular discussion to conclusion... because it's such a good one and because of WHO the conclusion of the matter is!!! Oh yeah. I promised to keep it short. Sorry.

Have you started your day with prayer? Will you stop and thank Him for who He is this morning? There's no better way to start your day.

Please read: Matthew 14:23-33

Read Genesis 2:9 and Genesis 3:1-7

We've come to realize and agree that we as a people, and as a society have allowed our perceptions and expectations to define success. Let’s single in on the history of our skewed views of blessing and prosper. In the beginning, man was created to KNOW God.. and to have to work and seek to know anything else. They walked and talked with God Himself. And yet… man chose what man wanted. Adam and Eve choose sin. As a result all of us are born with a sin natu...

Let’s dig a little deeper today! Plant your feet! Pray and commit your time to the Lord. Thank Him that He sees you and that He promises to direct your path.

Psalm 73 very directly addresses the matters at hand. Please grab your Bible and read it through!

Verse 1:
Truly, God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. OOOOOH DID YOU SEE THAT?!?! The Psalmist (believed to be Asaph) planted His feet! This sentence is more significant than we may first realize. The root wo...

Good morning!

Well yesterday we decided where we are going to STAND… through our definitions of prosper.
Let’s start to plant our feet a little bit, shall we?

The best definition of prosper is found in
Psalm 1:1… that’s right you got it: BLESSED.

In His blessedness, we have guidance for circumstances that are beyond our control. We have an owner (planted by streams of living water… we are not a wild tree growing by chance. We are lovingly planted by a constant source of life....

STAND....right where you are! This Bible study was a huge blessing in my life as I was able to participate online while continuing my "at home care" of my mother! Each day I was able to draw out what was needed in my own life, and as I was able, I had the opportunity to share online with other participants what God's word was teaching me. The study itself invoked fresh thoughts of ancient scriptures - proving the enduring power and relevance of God's word. I recommend this study to anyone who wants to experience the awesome wonder of a loving God speaking to your heart.

STAND is a down-to-earth look at what the Bible has to say about the difficult times that we all face in our lives. It looks at practical ways to make it through those times without feeling like you're drowning. It's great to study with other people and have such an easy format to share your thoughts and questions. (you can use my first name, last name, or anonymous - whichever you prefer) – Amy

You can submit your thoughts by sending an email to the5.2project@gmail.com or simply drop your thoughts in the box above and they'll come straight to us. * Please put "STAND" in the subject line. We'll post your entry the same day. If the box fills up, that's ok! Just send us another one, or use the email address! Looking forward to hearing from you!!!

Send us a picture of your rainy day (shoes... boots... bare feet... :) and we'll post them below! The5.2project.gmail.com
