Now I KNOW that the Lord saves His anointed; He answers from His holy heaven with the saving power of His right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and STAND FIRM. Psalm 20:6-8

Hi Guys!!! Hope you're doing great today! If it's starting slow for you... for ya grab some coffee! :)

NOW: Here's a treat for you:

You have filled my heart with greater joy than when grain and new wine abound. I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:7-8

He has filled our hearts with greater joy! Have you allowed it to infiltrate your life?

No. Really. Have you?

He [alone] makes us dwell in safety. That in and of itself gives me great joy. Feeling safe can be hard to come by at times! What a wonderful God. Such power and majesty, and yet He makes us feel SAFE. GREATER JOY. Hmm. Reminds me of our discussion about truth. There is the truth of our human reality... and another truth of God. There is also a happiness of our human reality... yet there is a GREATER JOY of God! What an incredible thing to think about! O How He loves us!

Here's another verse about joy that we've mention before in this study:

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:2-3

Do you remember WHAT the joy set before Jesus was, that would motivate Him to endure so much? IT WAS YOU. That's right. [Stop and thank your Savior!]

Ok. Let's "pivot" again. Discussions yesterday were right on the mark. The respect for the Lord was unparalleled by any that I am used to seeing or showing today. I think that we live in a society where God... is equated with a glorified Santa Claus. I really do. Let's stop this weekend and think it through. Dig for the greater truth... so that you can KNOW the greater joy. Let's put things back in context again, shall we?

For Discussion: Do you see [greater joy] the joy of the Lord, in your life? What about in the lives of others around you? How should your access to such joy affect your life today? How can you live it? How can you practically SHARE it today?

STAND....right where you are! This Bible study was a huge blessing in my life as I was able to participate online while continuing my "at home care" of my mother! Each day I was able to draw out what was needed in my own life, and as I was able, I had the opportunity to share online with other participants what God's word was teaching me. The study itself invoked fresh thoughts of ancient scriptures - proving the enduring power and relevance of God's word. I recommend this study to anyone who wants to experience the awesome wonder of a loving God speaking to your heart.

STAND is a down-to-earth look at what the Bible has to say about the difficult times that we all face in our lives. It looks at practical ways to make it through those times without feeling like you're drowning.
