ELOHI TSURI My God My Rock.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2
From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. Psalm 61:2-3
God is God. He is in control. He is intimate. He is the Rock of your heart.
It is a good day. His character... is so, so very good... Continue reading ...

Hey there! How are you today? Any new prayer requests or updates? I've been praying for you... and I know others have as well.
Let's wrap up our present discussion of feelings vs. acting today... plant our feet... and see what else God has in store!
Check this out: He {God} made known His ways to Moses, His deeds to the people of Israel. Psalm 103:7
In Exodus we read about the people of Israel, who had been freed from slavery by God, who witnessed some of the most incredible recorded miracles (m... Continue reading ...

It's a good morning. Prayer time. Bible out, reading through my friend's thoughts, knowing that God is right now preparing me for my day... and a HUGE mug of coffee. :) It's a good day.
Let's break these things down into two topics, one for today and one for tomorrow. I don't know about you but I'm encouraged, and motivated from our discussions. I don't want to lose sight of what I'm learning, so I want us to keep digging and draw out our personal application: "feet planting steps"... to take ... Continue reading ...

This morning, I want to dig just a little deeper into the discussion at hand. I'll keep it short. You're welcome. I can't wait to continue to draw this particular discussion to conclusion... because it's such a good one and because of WHO the conclusion of the matter is!!! Oh yeah. I promised to keep it short. Sorry.
Have you started your day with prayer? Will you stop and thank Him for who He is this morning? There's no better way to start your day.
Please read: Matthew 14:23-33

Read Genesis 2:9 and Genesis 3:1-7
We've come to realize and agree that we as a people, and as a society have allowed our perceptions and expectations to define success. Let’s single in on the history of our skewed views of blessing and prosper. In the beginning, man was created to KNOW God.. and to have to work and seek to know anything else. They walked and talked with God Himself. And yet… man chose what man wanted. Adam and Eve choose sin. As a result all of us are born with a sin natu... Continue reading ...

Let’s dig a little deeper today! Plant your
feet! Pray and commit your time to the Lord. Thank Him
that He sees you and that He promises to direct your
path.
Psalm
73 very directly addresses the matters at hand.
Please grab your Bible and read it through!
Verse 1:
Truly,
God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a
clean heart. OOOOOH DID YOU SEE
THAT?!?! The Psalmist (believed to be Asaph) planted His
feet! This sentence is more significant than we may first realize. The root wo... Continue reading ...

Good
morning!
Well yesterday we decided where we are going to STAND… through
our definitions of prosper. Let’s
start to plant our feet a little bit, shall
we?
The best definition of prosper is found
in Psalm
1:1… that’s right you got it:
BLESSED.
In His blessedness, we have
guidance for circumstances that are beyond our control. We have an owner
(planted by streams of living water… we are not a wild tree growing by chance.
We are lovingly planted by a constant source of life.... Continue reading ...

Hi
again! I hope you're doing wonderfully-well today!
:)We’re going to spend a little bit more time in Psalm
1 to start the week off… (and start hitting some
“sticky situations” toward the end of the week) there is so much there and is
such a great foundation for the entire book of Psalms! So… head back in
it.
Last week we focused on three words: BLESSED,
STAND, AND
DELIGHT. God’s
view of blessing is
different, and much deeper than our immediate view! To stand
sometimes ... Continue reading ...

Hi my friends! :) Today we're going
to continue to work through Psalm 1. This Psalm sums up in general, the entirety
of the Psalms, and it's worth digging into a bit. Feel free to add your thoughts
and discussions, it's been wonderful to read your discussion and learn from you!
Ready to dig? Have you spent some time in prayer asking the God who loves and
sees you to teach you and lead you into the reality of Him? Ok... let's go!
“But His delight is in the law
of the Lord…”Delight ... Continue reading ...

Good
morning! I hope you had a great weekend! I'm really thankful for and encouraged
by your discussion and input this weekend! It's an awesome thing to be able to
learn from other people's stories and to see more of who God really is through
that input and testimony!
Let’s head back over to
Psalm
1 today. Will you take a moment to read through it
again?
Blessed (beyond
what our eyes may immediately see) is the
man“THE man

man; that one amon... Continue reading ...

Hi
again!
So. Are
you ready to STAND today?
Sure.
Bible study can be just another thing you read. Or another thing you do.
But
that gets exhausting... and usually leaves you right where you started.
I spent a
long time thinking.. and worrying.. that we were supposed to be
a
beautiful and perfect vessel of the
attributes listed above to glorify God. I think it’s a very common misconception
in Christian circles today. The thing is though… we are only supposed to be the
clay. ... Continue reading ...

Wow it is
already a blessing and a privilege to study with you! We had some awesome things
to pull from yesterday, if you didn’t get to read the discussions please feel
free to take a minute and go back. You'll be glad you did!!! There have been
some awesome glimpses of the amazing love of God!
We've
taken a glimpse at our foundation... at the God who created the world, and yet
was the first to experience pain, rejection, and heartbreak. The creator was the
first to be really hurt, ... Continue reading ...

Good morning to you! I hope that you're doing
well today! I'm praying for you each of you every day... and I'm SO THANKFUL for
each of you in this study. For those who are quietly reading... and for those
who are joining in our discussion. I'm just glad that we're all in this
together!
Today we're going to spend a little bit more time
in Genesis, building our foundation, before we dive back into Psalm 1.
Ready?
Please open your Bible and read Genesis 1:26-31.
After filling the darkne... Continue reading ...

Hi everyone! I hope that your week is getting off
to a good start and that you're able to maneuver through this study and website
easily. Please e-mail me at any time if you have any
questions!
This study is about STANDING. No matter
what. And we're going to focus on that word... stand... tomorrow.
For today, let's take some time to address
just what... or who... it is that we're standing on.
[Our Firm
Foundation. Our cornerstone. Our
God.]

Day 1… And we’re
off and running! We're going to have a wonderful time together
:) I’m quite sure. Whether you’ve studied the Bible all your life or this is
your first time… it’s
worth investing in. It WILL prove itself true in your life when
you devote yourself to it. And the promises are all about abundant life.
We can STAND in Christ EVEN IF circumstances
would suggest otherwise. Do you have your Bible? What about a notebook? Let’s
get started. And the best place to s... Continue reading ...
| Photos by Beth Simmons STAND....right where you are! This Bible study was a huge blessing in my life as I was able to participate online while continuing my "at home care" of my mother! Each day I was able to draw out what was needed in my own life, and as I was able, I had the opportunity to share online with other participants what God's word was teaching me. The study itself invoked fresh thoughts of ancient scriptures - proving the enduring power and relevance of God's word. I recommend this study to anyone who wants to experience the awesome wonder of a loving God speaking to your heart. STAND is a down-to-earth look at what the Bible has to say about the difficult times that we all face in our lives. It looks at practical ways to make it through those times without feeling like you're drowning. It's great to study with other people and have such an easy format to share your thoughts and questions. (you can use my first name, last name, or anonymous - whichever you prefer) – Amy You can submit your thoughts by sending an email to the5.2project@gmail.com or simply drop your thoughts in the box above and they'll come straight to us. * Please put "STAND" in the subject line. We'll post your entry the same day. If the box fills up, that's ok! Just send us another one, or use the email address! Looking forward to hearing from you!!! Send us a picture of your rainy day (shoes... boots... bare feet... :) and we'll post them below! The5.2project.gmail.com |
