Hi there! Hope you're having a great week! We're going to change things up a little bit today as Simon and his friends follow Jesus to some very significant events in their own lives!

We're following a bit of a pattern in the gospels at the moment. We read a cluster of verses in which the disciples are mentioned often by name, followed by a cluster in which they were just watching. Then the same pattern repeats. Today we're following the events, teachings, and steps of the Master (while His disciples watched) before we dive head-first into some life-changing moments for Simon. Ready?

Have you spent some time in prayer? Don't just do the motions on your own. Follow Him.

Here we go!

This weekend the discussion leads are up to you. They can be as short or as long as you'd like. There are no right or wrong answers here. I'm going to list some portions of Scripture leading up to our next specific naming of Simon. Please pick one (or more!) event and simply list some things that the disciples watched or observed. Why?

Because we're on the same journey, you and I. We all observe other people's walks daily. The things we observe often impact our lives, even when we don't even realize it. The way we observe people judge one another impacts us. The way people react to situations impacts us. The hurts of others, and the joys of others impact us. God's hand is seen in each story, and in the many lessons that Jesus teaches to His beloved friends and disciples. So let's take a look at what they were learning, and what examples they saw lived out in front of them. Ready for the passages? (Remember... you don't have to do them all just choose what you'd like to mention. Please don't jump ahead just yet though! We're following footsteps!)

Matthew 11, 12, 13 Mark 6:1-29

John 3, 4, 5

So. The disciples watched. What did they see?

You're reading, so you're witnessing the historical facts about Jesus as well. What do you see? What should it mean to you as you walk forward this weekend and follow Jesus?

Come. Follow me. [There]. And I will make you fishers of men.”

Have a wonderful day!
