We've come to another Friday my friends! I hope that you've had a wonderful week and a great weekend to look forward to! Please let me know at any time if I can serve you in any way!

The verses that we read yesterday written by Peter confirmed the conclusions of hindsight. Focus in imperative. Fixing your eyes on Jesus is the only way to walk on the water. And the physical evidence of fixed eyes is prayer. It is impossible to follow Jesus without fixed eyes and communication. Period.

Let's continue to follow the somber scene now, as Jesus is led away by His captors.

Please read Luke 22:54.

Then seizing Him, they led Him away and took Him into the house of the high priest. Peter followed at a distance.

And then what happened? Please continue and read verses 55-62.

Jesus had looked at Peter from the beginning and said “Come. Follow me.” Peter had failed to “come” in the garden. He was present for prayer, but acted on his circumstances rather than what he KNEW about God. Things began to unravel from that point on.

Peter followed... at a distance.

And then he denied what he KNEW.

His incredible resolve wavered when he followed at a distance.

Today I would like to propose to you that every time we follow at a distance... we deny Christ. In some form or another, Every. Time.

For Discussion: What are you thoughts and why?

For your thought and discussion with the Lord.... you might be following Him, but are you following Him at a distance? What are you missing due to the gap between you and the Lord? Are you close enough to hear His voice, always? This weekend, seek to draw closer to Him than you've ever been before. And no I'm not just saying that. Nothing is stopping you that He can't overcome... and in fact, that He hasn't overcome already.
