Good morning and happy Friday to you!!! I hope your day is looking good so far!!! Again, have you spent time with the Lord in prayer? Are you ready to follow? Let's go!

This weekend I have a little project for us to think about and dig through. On Monday we're going to finish out this encounter between Jesus and his disciples, as Peter proclaims his faith that Jesus is God. Twice now how ever, Jesus has stated that while our fisherman is now Simon... he would one day be called “Peter” and he would be the [ROCK] on which Jesus would build build the church.

What exactly does that mean?

Was Jesus referring to Simon's character as the rock?

So this weekend I'd like to invite YOU to dig in and do the studying. The answers I've found are THRILLING.... and I'd like us to begin to dig in and make them personal before we unfold it further. As much or as little as you'd like to add to the discussion, we're all “ears.” Some suggested points you could pick and add to the study are:

A dictionary definition of [ROCK]

A Biblical definition of [ROCK]

Other verses or stories in the Bible that mention a [ROCK]

Evidences (and/or lack thereof ) in the life of Peter that point to this equation from Jesus

Was the church built as Jesus predicted through Peter? What verses can we read about this?

Was Simon to focus on what Jesus would do through him, or who Simon was to become in order for Jesus prediction to be true? How does this question affect us today?

Do you feel like you relate to Simon, standing before Jesus? Do you believe that Jesus sees beyond your circumstances and failures to who He knows you can be as you follow Him? What are the evidences of this knowledge in your life?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I can't wait to hear your thoughts!!!
