There is a God.

There is.

His evidence is undeniable.

He is seen in history, in creation, in the sheer brilliance and authority of His Word (the Bible) and in the daily reality of those who truly seek to know Him and to follow Him. Yes, very often we as people (even and especially Christians) do not adequately reflect His reality. And we are responsible for seeking Him personally in such a way as to experience and share His reality. But His evidence and reality does not depend upon us. We depend upon Him. And He is obvious.

For centuries mankind has witnessed and recorded the incredible evidence of His reality. Some argue that we can work our minds up to believe whatever it is that we seek. It has been rightly said however that a person dying of thirst in a desert can no more imagine a well of water before Him, than we can invent the reality that so many experience as they seek and follow God. If you've tried before and haven't seen Him, don't give up. Acknowledge that sometimes we don't have it all figured out yet... and reality that's been witnessed is worth getting to the bottom of. He is there. I know Him. I have witnessed His reality, and He has altered my life... and the countless lives of thousands through history who's realities cannot be explained away or argued with. You may take up side debates, but His existence is evident. [And without starting with the foundational fact that yes, there is a God... and we are not Him, no other issue can accurately be approached.]

We each choose to live our lives based either upon what we don't know about ourselves and our circumstances or upon what we do know... and we all therefore step out on faith based on what we know. We all do. Walking by faith through what we don't know based on what we do know... is NOT isolated to religious belief. It is how we all live. Period. We either base our actions assuming our personal control over life or His. And faith is involved in either scenario.

And there is a God. And we are not Him.

And we are each [individually] responsible for that information. [Daily.]

God is not a disconnected type of Santa Claus up in the sky created with the purpose of serving us and making us happy. The definition of God – in and of itself – (whether we like it or not) directly suggests a very different and far superior image.

Yes, sometimes God is not easy to find. Sometimes He may even hide His face. Does that mean He doesn't exist? No. Does that mean He doesn't love? Absolutely not. It means that He loves us enough to want to keep us close. It means He is greater than us... His scope of the big picture is complete and ours simply is not. God does not have to meet us on our terms or within our demands. [HE is God. We are not.] It is recorded in scripture and also logical to assume that you may have seek him to find Him. This is not because He is hard to find. It is because we have so filled the scope of our gaze with our own Lordship over life, that we need to be willing to seek, to fight for, and to act upon truth, regardless and beyond the scope of our circumstances.

Because there is a God. And though He doesn't need to or have to, He has chosen to reveal His evidence and extend love beyond comprehension to us. And this love is life changing, miracle-making, and without question, demands our attention.

Getting right with the Lord does not start with doing the right thing, being the right thing, or knowing all of the answers. Isn't that a relief?!?

Getting right with the Lord does not mean bondage. It also does not mean an easy passageway through life and circumstances. But it DOES mean victory, joy and peace that surpass circumstance, which allows us to follow step by step the God who is Lord of circumstances beyond our control, and to truly become what the Bible refers to as “more than conquerors” (Romans 8:37).

How do we find eternal life that is victorious despite and through our circumstance, and a relationship with the God who created and is evident in the universe?

He brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved – you and your household.” Acts 16:30-31

Belief is not simply a collection of un-applied, idle knowledge. It is knowing what you know. It is defining for yourself what you know and are willing to do something about in your daily life. It is living what you know... Adding an “and so” to those facts of which you know. And it is sharing what you know with others, because it is a reality that forms a foundation for the rest of life, a life in which we are all just people, traveling through life together, and there is a God. And He is more wonderful and loving, and Holy than words can express and our minds can conceive. Belief on His name is the ultimate act of worship... and it is through knowing what we know, living what we know, and sharing what we know that we will be blessed with the privilege of seeing more of who He is.

We have not seen the depths of who God is, but what we do know of Him is more than enough to devote our lives to the pursuit of, one step at a time. Every day.

To know God, simply start at the beginning

Define what it means in your life that there is a God. It means that you are not Him. It means acknowledging this before Him and confessing what is also an undeniable reality of ALL of mankind... our lives are full or imperfection, bad decisions, and sin that causes destruction. No matter how kind or good we are, it is impossible to erase these areas of our lives.

Because we are not God. He is.

From the point of accepting who God is, know that History records Jesus Christ who came to earth, who died on the cross as the sacrifice for sin that we cannot rid from our own lives and deserves death. He suffered the ultimate penalty so that we could know Him... so that we could have access to salvation and victory from sin... and so that we could know eternal life with Him. His cross built a bridge for us! Isn't that incredible?

He allows us to pray. He is a King beyond our comprehension, and yet He desires communication with us. Bowing the knee before a Lord and a King is a privilege, not a punishment. It allows access to freedom, not to bondage. It allows access to the knowledge of our purpose and access to the One who knows the plan! Talk to Him and acknowledge your sin and His Lordship... and He will forgive you and make you new. We are all the same in His eyes... we are all His individually created, uniquely loved children... and yes we are all sinners. From the greatest to the least, all just people. He already knows that. Any parent of young children are thrilled to hear admission that their little ones don't yet know all of the answers and they need help. There is no shame in stating the obvious... admission of sin and mistakes from the greatest to the least is not an ending... it is always a chance for a new beginning in which those things can no longer condemn you. And He already paid the price... He's just waiting for you to accept this reality and allow Him to make you new and lead you to victory.

Won't you decide today to simplify your footsteps to knowing what you know, living what you know, and sharing what you know?

It's a reasonable way to worship a Savior.

From this point on your footsteps must turn from living as if you are God, and must begin to find their footing I the reality that has always been evident... there is a God! (HOW WONDERFUL!) There is a God who is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving... who has offered his forgiveness, love, and daily guidance to walk us through this life.

He gives us joy, peace, and PURPOSE beyond our circumstances.

When Jesus came to earth He told His disciples to “Come. Follow me. And I will make you fishers of men.” Just come. Start at the beginning with what you know. And follow Him one step at a time. Don't run ahead, don't fall behind. Don't run off to the side, just follow. The Bible is the Word of God, the most brilliant, and incredible book that will change your life... every day. But approach it as God's word. Do not take it lightly. [BECAUSE THERE IS A GOD. AND WE ARE NOT HIM.] Be willing to seek after God. Matthew 6:33 says to “Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all of these things will be added to you.” Don't start with your questions, debates, or fears. Start with knowing God. Seek hard after Him. And all of these questions, debates, and fears will be answered in the knowledge of who He is. Guaranteed.

Does the very fact that there is a God... all other thoughts aside not denote the fact that He should be approached on our knees? It is simple logic to conclude that if we were to rally together in willingness to see more of who He is and approach the subject of God accordingly... we would see radical and life-changing answers to the trials that are overcoming our society. Approaching God on our knees (not only physically, but in our thoughts, attitudes and actions) even and especially when we don't know all of the answers, would invite GOD [who we are not capable of being...] to do great and mighty things among us. I don't want to miss that, do you? Will you join me in this pursuit?

If you want to see great things in your life, than defer control to the One who already is in control. He is more than able to prove Himself. You are not responsible for what other people think. You are responsible for what you know. Then and there... through God alone... is found the only pathway to abundant, victorious, and eternal life. And we are all responsible for that information.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him. Psalm 34:8
