So I wanted to share a little something that God showed me last week through an author named Carolyn McCulley.  The more I have thought about this, the more it makes me admire my Savior.  It is so beautiful to me that it has litterally choked me up with tears three different times in this past week.  Check it out!  John 11:35 was one of my favorite Bible Memory Verses to quote as a child because of its sheer simplicity, but last week God totally knocked me on my tail with those two words.  Think about it... Christ is God.  He knew he had the power to raise Lazarus. He knew He was going to raise Lazarus.  But you know what else He knew?  He knew how badly His dear friends Mary and Martha were hurting.  And so look at what He did... He took time to weep with them.  How beautiful is that?  Not only do we have a Savior who is able to satisfy our great needs, but He is also sensitive to how we feel in the midst of the need, and our pain breaks His heart.   I love this picture of compassion.  I love that we have a God who doesn't just say 'This problem is nothing for me, don't worry about it'  but he sits down with us and takes a minute to see that in that moment we are worried, we are hurt, we are sad... and Because of His great love for us, He knows that sometimes all we need is a Savior who weeps with us.
Love, Betsy
