The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10

Not just a name, but THE name of the LORD. The name is salvation; THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life. There is power in this name. All other names just identify who the person is. This name is our refuge and strength. Look up…..this name is above all. Do you see the Tower of who He is? He is bigger and grander and more magnificent than any tower human eyes have seen. Human eyes can’t see Him; Spirit filled eyes can.

What else do you notice about this verse? Not everyone runs to this Tower; not everyone calls on the name of the LORD. The ones who run to it are the ones who have experienced their need and His sufficiency. When they go they are at/in the best place on earth, no matter where their physical bodies may be. They are set on high and out of reach of danger; they are safe.

Faithfulness, Power, Mercy, Peace, Compassion, and so much more is where we are when we run to Him.

We have a name. Our children, parents, and friends have a name; but nobody can or ever will run to your name or my name. It is only the name of the LORD that encompasses the totality of all that is good. 

For Today: Where do you go when trouble comes; when you are in need; when you are scared? God knows we have a tendency to want to run when these things happen. Praise God, He tells us to go ahead and run…..Not ‘away’, or to a pit of hopelessness, or to a shack without a foundation, but to run to Him. Look to His name friends and run to the indestructible TOWER….Perfect provision no matter what we face.

Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation; my stronghold.
