A few Proverbs ago, we looked at some really good ‘pictures’ given through the Word of God. Let’s examine a few more that paint clearly what God wants us to seeand subsequently learn from.

11: A word spoken at the right time is like apples of gold in settings of silver.

14: Whoever boasts falsely of giving a gift is like clouds and wind without rain.

15: By long forbearing is a ruler persuaded, and a gentle tongue breaks a bone.

19: Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a bad tooth and a foot out of joint.

20: Like one who takes away a garment in cold weather, and like vinegar on soda, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart.

26: A righteous man who falters before the wicked is like a murky spring and a polluted well.

28: He who has no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls.

For Today: Friends, here are 7 different images that are given to you and I for our thorough investigation. Spend a moment on each one and ask the LORD to show you what He wants you to see. There is so much here. Take one, two, or three of these verses and share them with a friend or family member today. Use them as an opportunity to engage someone in conversation regarding the Word. Some people think the Bible is dull and irrelevant. Our own excitement over what we’ve ‘seen’ in the Word can show them that it isn’t.
