How many of you have heard these words before? How many of you have spoken them? This phrase has been repeated over and over again since the beginning of time and in each and every language that exists. It has been whined and shouted and cried by young and old alike. It is a group of words that shows just how self centered we really are. Usually our discontentment over a situation is what provokes this thought process; we feel we deserve something we aren’t getting or haven...

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10
Not just a name, but THE name of the LORD. The name is salvation; THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life. There is power in this name. All other names just identify who the person is. This name is our refuge and strength. Look up…..this name is above all. Do you see the Tower of who He is? He is bigger and grander and more magnificent than any tower human eyes have seen. Human eyes can...

Have you ever considered the Zebra?
It is an incredible animal which points
directly to a Creator who has designed all living things.
The zebra has a coat that is more distinctive
than that of any other animal. Each and every zebra’s stripe pattern
is completely different and unique; just like you and I have completely
different finger prints, the zebra has an individual pattern that is
unlike any other.
Zebras are social animals and run in
packs. They ar...

Faith is placing our trust in the
Lord Jesus Christ to save us from the penalty of our sins. It is the
necessary ingredient in our relationship with Him; unless we have it,
we can’t see Him for who He is. Without it, we see only what the flesh
sees. Jesus died to save ALL; He didn’t pick one type, or all types
but one. He died that all might come to the Father through Him. There
is no man or woman better in the sight of Holy God; there is no man
or woman worse in ...

James 2: 1-9
Here is the Word of God for today:
My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality. For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,: and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool”, have you no...

There is something speaking to us today, and it isn’t a person in our world. There is something crying out for us to hear, but its voice comes not from a man, woman, boy or girl. There is something so important calling to you and me and everyone around us, and there are such great dangers if we ignore it. What can it be?
Proverbs 8: 1-4 Does not wisdom cry out, and understanding lift up her voice? She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, beside the way, where the ...

We had a little accident in our
home the other night. My children decided to play ball in my daughter’s
room. What usually happens happened last week, but this time it ended
differently. The ball they like to play with is one of those large balls
you can actually sit on. This activity always starts off nice and calm
as they roll the ball back and forth to each other. It doesn’t always
end that way however.
This particular evening, my daughter
came running out of he...

Let’s keep following Jesus after He blessed the children.
Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but One, that is; God. You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and your mother.’” And ...

For today.
Isn't it good to just stop sometimes, and realize that we can take it just one day at a time?
… And isn't it good to remember that we have to take things one day at a time (whether we like it or not!)
Here are some things for you to remember, no matter what your day brings. Because the One who holds your day and the circumstances that you can't control holds you as well. And He's more wonderful than words can describe. So, for today, let's thank Him!

And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Allow the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. Verily I say unto you, Whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, heshall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and b...

The book of Daniel is one of my favorite Old Testament books. It will never grow old nor is it irrelevant in any way; it has great pertinence to living as a Christian in today’s world.
Daniel 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies……….
Daniel was captured as a young man, taken from his home in Israel, and was brought to Babylon and to a pagan culture completely foreign from his own. The food ...

So then my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. James 1:19
There are three distinct actions here. They are in this particular order for a very good reason. If I am quick to hear, then I’ll be slower to speak and ultimately slower to be angry. Makes sense doesn’t it; too bad most of us are swift to speak, slow to hear, and swift to become angry. But that doesn’t surprise our all knowing Father; it is the reason He has given us...

Every good and perfect gift is from
above, and coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is
no variation, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17
This is one of those verses that is
jam packed with hope. Everything that is good and everything that is
perfect comes from the Father who is always Good and Perfect. That in
itself is why He can give good and perfect gifts. All that He has made
is a reflection of this, whether we view it that way or not.

Something seemingly insignificant caught my attention this weekend. It was a little boy who had obviously just learned to tie his shoes. So what’s the big deal? Well it was the way he locked his eyes onto what his sweet little fingers were doing. His full concentration was on the task. He paid no attention however to the noise around him; his gaze was ‘fixed’!
Whenever we learn something new, we give it our full attention so that we can process and integrate all the nece...

God has taught me many things personally
through His word, and many of you could come up with a long list of
what He has taught you. Although the specifics of how they were taught
may vary, the bottom line is that all the truths themselves will
be consistent throughout each and every situation. And,
what we learn is never meant for just that moment. Often it is the beginning
of what God desires to build upon in our lives so that we can carry
it out in our day to day li...

Genesis 3
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die;

I
KNOW that true forgiveness
is like breathing - it is one of the "essentials"
of life - TRUE, VICTORIOUS LIFE. Our God has given us
physical life, in which, one part is inhaling and
exhaling...something we don't even think about or realize...until
this one "essential" of life is interrupted. Maybe through
sickness, asthma, or whatever it may be, our breathing sometimes gets
interrupted. It's not as natural and easy as it once was, and we are
VERY aware of it! It is the on...

Have you ever walked into the Post
Office and seen a picture with this word in big bold letters over a
person’s head? Long ago those posters used to say, DEAD or ALIVE right
under the word ‘Wanted.’ These people broke the law in a significant
way, and they are being sought out to protect the public from their
lawless, criminal acts.
Do you know that somewhere in the
vastness of the heavens, God the Father has a ‘Wanted” poster of
you that is always in His f...

What happens at the cross?....It
is the place of forgiveness for sinners.
But is it a place that is meant
for a one time visit?... Or are we meant to return to the place of death
and life time and time again?...What do you think?
If we stay away from the cross
for any length of time, we lose so much true clarity, and we lose the
ability to forgive. At Calvary alone can I see that there is nothing
that can be done to me that cannot be forgiven. At Calvary alone can
I...

Have you ever wished you could
make all your decisions with good sound wisdom? There is a way you can.
God IS wisdom. Although He knows
all things at all times, He is never described as intelligent. There
is a very good reason for that. Do you know any intelligent people that
are not all that wise? I know some who are far smarter than I am, but
are truly foolish when it comes to the things of God. Therefore, intelligence
alone is never what we need the most for our dec...

James 1: 2-4 My brethren, count
it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing
of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work
that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
Do you count it ALL joy? I don’t.
It seems I only count some things as joy. In my flesh, a root
canal is not joy, nor is financial hardship. The word ‘joy’ doesn’t
even enter my mind when there is family stress and strain, or when I’...

Luke 6: 43-45
For a good tree does not bring forth bad fruit; neither does a bad tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

1 Peter 5:6 says this..Humble
yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt
you in due time.
V:7…Casting all your cares
upon Him, for He cares for you.
As we look at the first verse,
we see some instructions for us. We have a responsibility to humble
ourselves. We are to make the choice to put ourselves under the
place of complete protection and power; under the mighty hand
of God.
Do you want to be under His hand?
If we are not in submissio...

Maria, Thank you so much for sharing what God is showing you in His Living Word! I Peter was a great encouragement to us through Levi's cancer and surgery.
