Luke 19: 1-10 Then Jesus entered
and passed through Jericho. Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus
who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. And he sought to see
who Jesus was but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short
stature. So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see
Him, for He was going to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place,
He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus,
make haste and come down, for...

I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire, He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man who makes the Lord His trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Many O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you pl... I was having a conversation with
my oldest son the other day and we were discussing how we need to approach
any and all choices we make. I shared with him that we must always ask
ourselves if ‘this’ brings glory to God, if it will grow
us spiritually, and if it will keep us from going down a path that we
already struggle with. Some things are so blatantly wrong. Some things
are questionable to an immature believer, and then there are some things
that are perfectly...

Have you ever felt like you just
couldn’t do what God wanted you to do? If you’re honest, you most
certainly would answer yes. Have you ever felt guilty for feeling like
that? You aren’t alone. Throughout history some of the most godly
men and women have felt that way. But that doesn’t mean we have to
give into this or any other ‘feeling’. With a willing heart and
obedience to God we can do anything.
Exodus 4:10-12 Then Moses said
to the LORD, “O my Lord...

Betroth is a word that you
just don’t hear anymore! Its definition is as follows: the adjective
form means ‘engaged to be married’. The noun form means ‘the person to whom one is
engaged’. The verb form is ‘to promise to marry’. Each is important.
Get ready for something amazing.
Hosea 2:19
-20 I will betroth you to me forever; yes, I will betroth you to me
in righteousness and justice, in loving kindness and mercy; I will betroth
you to me in faithfulne...

Just yesterday, my Pastor preached
another powerful message from the Book of Revelation. I’d like to
try and share a small part of it with you.
Revelation 3: 15-16 “I know
your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I
could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm,
and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth.”
Do you know that Jesus
Himself is talking? Yes Jesus, the God of Love, and Mercy, and Forgiveness,
and Grace, and Co...

Like many of you, I am a mother.
There are very many wonderful things about being a mom, and many challenging
things about the calling as well. I want so much for my children to
know Jesus Christ and to love Him passionately. I want so much for them
to grow in the grace and knowledge of who He is, and to allow Him to
completely change their lives, desires, and plans.
As a mom though, I am continuously
faced with my inadequacies. There is no perfect mom, I realize that,...

In the beginning God created
the heavens and the earth…..Genesis 1:1
Man has devoted much time, money,
and ‘thought’ into trying to figure out how our world was formed.
Look at the 10 words above. They state the answer plainly and clearly.
The verse tells us Who created, what He created, and when He created.
And it also tells us the very first characteristic that God wants us
to know about Himself. He is the Creator.

I beseech you therefore, brethren,
by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not
be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect
will of God. Romans 12: 1-2
Many, many years ago, in certain tribal
villages, a very strong deterrent was used for the crime of murder.
If a man killed ano...

I graduated college despite the
subjects of Chemistry and Physics. It was agony for me to get through
these courses because this type of information just didn’t register
in my brain. I am very analytical in many respects, but if just a bunch
of irrelevant facts are thrown at me, I can’t make sense of them.
I got D’s in both these subjects (barely!), but A’s and B’s in
the other sciences where I could plainly understand how the information
applied to ‘real l...

Here is our Saturday scripture to meditate
on: Read it with great care and never forget that it is the living Word
of God.
********
Psalm 63: 1-7 O GOD, thou art my
God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth
for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
To see thy power and thy glory, so
I have looked for thee in the sanctuary.
Because thy loving-kindness is better
than life, my lips shall praise thee.

Psalm 23: 1-2 The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth
me beside the still waters.
Is the LORD your Shepherd? If He is,
there is nothing that you will lack. The Shepherd has a very important
message for us today. Listen carefully…. He wants us to slow down.
What do you think of when you hear the words, ‘He makes me to lie
down in green pastures?’ I think about a beautiful field on a fall
day. No bugs are pr...

One of the things I love about God’s
Word is that it is crystal clear. There are no incomplete thoughts or
partial options. It truly is black and white. A man or woman in search
of grey will not want to investigate the Word because right and wrong DO
exist: period. There are absolute truths. Opinions, feelings,
and ideas cannot alter what has been ordained for all of time by our
Creator.
Now, as much as I am thankful for the
infallible Word of God and know it is an a...

Remember our ‘inheritance’
in Christ? Well this next scripture in 1 Peter is too good not to continue
on in. Verse 6 of chapter 1 says the following: In this you greatly
rejoice, though now, for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved
by various trials.
In this we greatly rejoice. ‘This’
is the incredible inheritance and knowledge of what is to come; it is
with good reason that we rejoice. Though now, for a little
while, if need be. God is speaking to...

1Peter
1:3-4 Blessed be the
God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His
abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance
incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in
heaven for you who are kept by the power of God through faith for
salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Have you ever had your own garden?
They are hard work, but lots of fun. They yield ‘fruit’ that
is usually much tastier than the store bought variety. This is especially
true of tomatoes. I absolutely love ripe, homegrown tomatoes. I’ll
eat the ones from the store if I have no choice, but can’t say I’m
too fond of those.
Did you know that tomatoes are
considered a fruit and not a vegetable? Well that ties in perfectly
with what God has blessed me to share. ...

Do you listen to the news? I never
do because I find it really, really depressing. But I have a very good
friend who is my source of news. She will often tell me what is going
on in our ever changing world and because I know it is important to
be aware, I listen. But without question, I must be very careful not
to dwell on what I hear today, because it changes tomorrow.
If I dwell on today’s news, my mind almost automatically goes to the

What I write about today is very personal,
but it points so clearly to God’s loving and caring influence over
all things that I must share it for His glory. Nobody can
EVER tell me that He is not aware of every little thing that one
of His children go through, feel, or even think.
I went to bed last night and awoke
this morning with a heavy heart. I know of no specific reason
for this, yet there it was nonetheless. As I got up this morning, my
body didn’t want to ...

I am Italian and I must confess, I love to eat. I do realize that being Italian is not the cause
for my love of food, but it sure has contributed to it!! I remember
saying to my mom once that I was sure she put pasta in the blender and
mixed it in with my milk when I was a baby!
Over the years I have gained some weight and have just not been able to get it off. I haven't tried
to gain the weight, but it has come nonetheless. And although I have
tried to lose weight, I haven't.... Continue reading ...

Do you know how a muscle is activated?
Well in very simple terms, a nerve impulse is sent to the muscle fiber,
causing it to contract. Unless stimulated by the nerve, the muscle cannot
be activated. If the muscle is not activated, there is no movement.
Did you know that there are people with
neurological disorders whose ‘muscles’ are fine per se, but
the conduction of the nerve is impaired and therefore does not stimulate
the muscle or generate a contraction? (Skel...

Gravity: I can NOT wait to defy gravity! Come quickly LORD Jesus! Praise God, His thoughts are greater than my thoughts!! Thank you for sharing, Maria!
On 1 Peter:
Maria, Thank you so much for sharing what God is showing you in His Living Word! I Peter was a great encouragement to us through Levi's cancer and surgery. Just as you shared, we were continually reminded that our suffering was not in vain! God graciously allowed us to see His Hand at work every step of the way! I praise God for the opportunity to test my faith! Love, Rachel
Maria, I’m so thankful for your willingness to share and your incredible ability to do it in such an awesome way. I am always encouraged, and learning as I read and I’m so grateful for all that you do! Love, Mary
